What is the Bloop?

Cryptids have always sparked the imagination — think Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, and Mothman. But one mystery has remained submerged beneath the waves: the Bloop. If you’ve never heard of it, the Bloop is a mysterious ultra-low frequency sound that was detected deep in the South Pacific Ocean. First recorded in 1997 by NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), this sound has puzzled scientists, conspiracy theorists, and cryptid hunters alike for decades.

The Origins of the Bloop
